Von diesen amerikanischen Hochschulen liegen dem DAAD Stipendien-Angebote für einen Erlass der Studiengebühren vor, die sogenannten Gegenstipendien. Die Zulassung wird hier fast nur an die Graduate Schools of Arts and Sciences erteilt, selten an die Professional Schools (Business, Architecture, Law, Medicine).
